Job description
About Estendio
We are a mission-driven accessibility start-up dedicated to transforming the way the 1 billion disabled and neurodivergent people in our world work, learn and live.
Since launching our first product, Present Pal, in 2018, Estendio has supported students across over 150 universities in the UK and US to communicate with confidence. Building on that success, we’ve now launched Tailo, an AI-powered reading platform that creates a personalised reading experience for every mind.
As we scale into new markets, we are seeking to redefine accessibility - not just as a legal standard, but as an empowering and intuitive experience for all. With strong traction in our core market and a growing team, we’re entering an exciting new phase: shaping what inclusive technology can be at its best.
About the Role
We’re looking for a thoughtful, impact-driven Senior Product Manager who thrives on solving meaningful problems for both users and customers - balancing the real-world needs of neurodivergent students with the needs and priorities of DSA assessors and institutions.
This role sits at the heart of shaping Tailo’s product direction and value. You’ll be a driving force across discovery, strategy and delivery - ensuring we’re building the right things in the right way, and that product decisions are grounded in a deep understanding of both the student experience and the pathways to revenue.
You’ll help identify and shape the most valuable opportunities, collaborating closely with Product Design and Engineering to turn insight into innovative, intuitive and outcome-driven product solutions. You'll influence strategic product decisions using a blend of user insight, data, commercial awareness and competitive context - always keeping our dual audience in mind.
You’ll report to the Director of Product and collaborate cross-functionally with Product Design, Engineering, Marketing and Sales teams. We're currently trialling the Shape Up methodology to improve focus and delivery cadence - this role will contribute to that effort, but our broader goal is to stay outcome-focused and methodology-agnostic.
You’ll also play a key role in driving innovation - helping identify and shape ideas that move the product forward, especially where AI or new approaches can unlock meaningful differentiation.
Key Responsibilities
Product Discovery & Insight
Explore the needs, challenges and motivations of students through research, behavioural data and feedback loops.
Stay closely aligned with assessor and institutional priorities to ensure Tailo meets expectations and drives commercial success.
Monitor the competitive landscape, accessibility trends and emerging technologies - especially AI - to uncover opportunities.
Use analytics and usage data to identify patterns, evaluate product impact and uncover opportunities to improve experience and outcomes.
Define and monitor metrics to evaluate product performance and inform decisions.
Problem Framing & Solution Shaping
Identify and define high-value problems grounded in user and customer insights, feedback, data and strategic priorities.
Collaborate with Design and Engineering to explore and shape meaningful solutions - breaking down complexity, aligning early on value and assessing feasibility.
Turn validated problems into clearly framed initiatives - balancing strategic value, delivery effort and creativity.
Clearly communicate the purpose, constraints and context of each initiative to ensure teams have the understanding and alignment needed to succeed.
Team Support & Product Delivery
Support cross-functional product delivery teams to stay focused and aligned as they bring ideas to life.
Help teams navigate delivery decisions, trade-offs and evolving scope with clarity - without reducing autonomy or momentum.
Be available to provide strategic and contextual support as teams deliver work - stepping in to clarify intent or unblock progress.
Support ongoing reflection and continuous improvement in how we plan, build and collaborate.
Strategic Planning & Communication
Maintain a clear, high-level product roadmap that reflects company objectives and long-term product direction.
Communicate product strategy, progress and priorities across teams to ensure alignment and shared understanding.
Value Proposition & Product Fit
Ensure every solution we deliver strengthens our core value proposition - for both students and those responsible for recommending or purchasing tools.
Champion clarity, simplicity and accessibility across user-facing features.
Support the articulation of product value throughout onboarding, messaging and stakeholder communication.
Job requirements
About You
You’re motivated by mission and driven by outcomes. You’re just as comfortable exploring messy, imperfect insights - whether from users, the market or internal teams - as you are digging into analytics to evaluate impact and inform decisions. You understand that solving real problems for students and meeting the needs of assessors and institutions aren’t competing goals - they’re part of the same system.
You’ll thrive in a startup environment where pace, learning and adaptability are part of the culture - and you’re excited to help shape a growing product alongside a close-knit, mission-driven team.
Must-Haves
5+ years in product management, ideally in EdTech accessibility or SaaS.
Proven experience working in a startup or scale-up environment - confident navigating ambiguity, autonomy and competing priorities.
Experience leading discovery efforts and working with cross-functional teams to ship high-impact features.
Strong product thinking and problem-framing skills, grounded in user insight and commercial awareness.
Comfortable working across a dual-audience product (e.g. solving for both end users and institutional customers).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills - able to build trust, share decisions and align diverse stakeholders.
A mindset of experimentation and innovation - you’re excited by new technologies and comfortable testing and learning in fast-moving environments.
Bonus
Experience working on or alongside AI-powered products or features - you’re aware of the opportunities and trade-offs involved.
Familiarity with accessibility regulations or university procurement processes.
Exposure to Shape Up, dual-track agile, or other lean and adaptive product development practices.
Direct experience working with or designing for neurodivergent users.
